smkEmissions and pollution control standards are growing more restrictive all around the world, and there is no reversing its progress. R-Fuel reduces harmful emissions across the board, including NOx, Sox, CO and solid particulates by startling amounts, without expensive equipment upgrades or cost prohibitive fuel conversions.
Fuel Reformation’s technology eliminates more than 95% of solids and particle matter from combustion exhaust and reduces sulfur dioxide, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and monoxide emissions by 30-60% without affecting the efficiency of the emulsified fuel.

Fuel Upgrading’s nano-fibrous mat technology removes sulfur from fuel in a recyclable process. This technology has been demonstrated to achieve<10 PPM sulfur from >400 PPM sulfur diesel. Combined with R-Fuel, extremely low emissions operation is achievable.

The EPA has recognized emulsified fuel as cleaner fuel, and has included its use as a part of the 2003 Clean Air Act. A-Fuel produced in specific dilution ratios may already meet the EPA’s 2030 standards in specific applications.

The International Maritime Organization will require by 2015 that all ships in designated waters surrounding much of Europe use fuel containing less than 0.1%. Extracting sulfur from fuel is an expensive process, and few refineries are able to produce very low sulfur fuel, which puts upward pressure on prices. Industry officials say the change could increase bunker fuel prices by 87%, and cause up to half of present maritime shipping to be shifted to land transportation, increasing congestion, pollution and fuel prices.

R-Fuel can achieve the 2015 IMO regulation now, without requiring a large CAPEX to shipping fleet owners. Fuel Reformation Fuel Processors can be customized for installation aboard ships, at less cost than that of converting to very low-sulfur fuel, installing catalytic exhaust cleaners or converting ships to alternative fuels such as LNG.

The World Health Organization has declared diesel fuel emissions to be a cause of cancer due to its high level of particulate emissions and noxious substances. Use of R-Fuel eliminates a large fraction of the most environmentally volatile substances.
